Auto Trader, owned by Trader Media Group is the biggest selling motoring magazine throughout the whole of Ireland and Britain. The first Auto Trader launched in 1977 and with its success and unique selling point rapidly grew and developed throughout the UK and across to Ireland resulting in thirteen regional Auto Trader centres.

Ireland’s Auto Trader first appeared on the shelves in 1995, with 52 pages of black and white advertising; today the magazine is in excess of 260 full colour pages. Over the years we have grown to become not only the biggest selling motoring title, but one of the largest selling weekly magazines throughout Ireland with a weekly circulation of 61990 (ABC Jul-Dec’04), resulting in a weekly readership figure of over 390,000.

From our launch in1995, to date Auto Trader has become the market leader by focusing on building a strong brand and exceeding our customers expectations, ensuring that both trade and private customers have the optimum opportunity to buy and sell their vehicles. Since the beginning, Ireland’s Auto Trader has grown and developed at an outstanding rate. We now have two offices in Ireland, one in Dublin and one in Belfast.

In August 2003, the Guardian Media Group acquired a 100% stake in Trader Media Group (previously the company held a 48% share) estimated at a cost of £600 million. Previously the company was co-owned by Venture Capital firm BC Partners and the Guardian Media Group. TMG publishes over 70 publications on a weekly basis.
