HELP US HELP YOU!

Telephone interview

Having 15 years recruitment experience in a number of different environments, I have come across so many situations.

I have worked both as the Recruitment Manager and client so I fully understand that using an agency is the best approach. Having worked with a number of agencies throughout my career, I found an agency that went above and beyond and took the time not only to find the perfect candidate for me but took the time to understand the business and about what the “Right Fit” meant to our business. Hence the reason I am now working with Morgan McKinley. I believe in their approach to both candidates and clients alike.

I have been trying to establish what I would write my first blog with Morgan McKinley on and working here now for over 2 months, I have found that in order for me to help my clients I need to find out much information about the company, the role, right fit and cultural requirements. Unfortunately this is sometimes not too forthcoming; So I have put together some pointers in order for us to help you in finding that “perfect fit”

1. GIVE US YOUR TIME

Our aim is to find you the ideal candidate by spending that extra time on the phone, providing information in areas such as company culture and extra details that are not on the job description, such as the structure of the department team. Giving us your time for a site visit gives us so much insight into what your company is about and so, will help us sell your company and the role to our candidates.

2. PROVIDE ACCURATE AND COMPLETE JOB DESCRIPTIONS

A detailed, clear and concise job description is essential in order for us to help you. Take the time to discuss the job description in detail and answer our questions. This will help us to be more specific with our search and save you from interviewing the wrong candidates.

3. RESPOND TO US

“The early bird catches the worm”, the market has really picked up and so, good candidates are speedily taken off the market. Responding to calls and e-mails in a timely manner will help us to help you. If you don't move quickly, you may lose out on the “perfect fit”, so evaluate those CV details as soon as you can. The quicker you get back to us the quicker you will have your ideal candidate on board and working!

4.  BE OPEN AND PROVIDE IMMEDIATE FEEDBACK

Be open to our advice about non-typical candidates and be realistic about salaries and benefits. We are aware of what your competitors are offering and what candidates are looking for. We are here to help you and make the search process easier, and the only way we can do that is if you are forthright with your feedback. Thus will help us in our search for you.

5. THINK OF THE CANDIDATE

Remember that it not all about the candidate making an impression on you, your company must also make an impression on the candidate. If you find the right candidate you need to move fast.  Remember that their initial impression is key, how they are treated with on first meeting on the phone interview or face to face is crucial. Lack of follow up and feedback has an overall impact on their decision to accept an offer or not. Lack of contact and feedback is off putting for any candidate and makes it more difficult for us to manage and keep them interested in your role. Perception is reality.
